The anniversary of MKR's birthday is this Friday - 8/8/08. In celebration of her life and her writing, I'm hosting a birthday dinner. Originally the plan was to incorporate some of her recipes from Cross Creek Cookery, but my local grocer didn't have a good price on bear, and the turtle looked stringy. My friends who are curious about exactly what's going to occur at the celebration have been met with this reply: We're going to drink bourbon and shoot off guns in the back yard.
